Why skills training matters now
The Nigerian job market rewards demonstrable ability. A degree opens doors, but practical skills close the deal. The right training programme can compress years of trial-and-error learning into a few weeks of focused, mentor-led practice.
Look for practitioners, not just certificates
The best facilitators are people currently doing the work. They bring real examples, current tools, and honest feedback. Ask who will teach the programme before you enrol.
Demand practice, not just theory
Watching slides is not training. A strong programme gives you assignments, peer review, projects, and a portfolio piece you can show to employers or donors.
Mentorship is the multiplier
Training without follow-up often fades. Look for programmes that include post-training mentorship, alumni communities, or accountability check-ins. That is where the real transformation happens.
Check the outcomes
Ask for alumni stories, employment or funding outcomes, and reviews. A programme that cannot point to transformed careers is probably not worth your time or money.
